Charlotte Henwood: Curatorial Consultant |
||
BIOGRAPHY | ||
With an academic background in music and the arts, Charlotte Henwood joined the Ministry of Defence as a graduate entrant. She then undertook various roles, specialising in finance and in business continuity. Following the completion of an MBA, she took the opportunity to broaden her experience, specialising in developing an awareness of history and heritage within the Armed Forces and the MOD civilian environment. She was appointed Curator of the Ministry of Defence Art Collection in 1998. In that role she presented two public exhibitions - "Bequests To The Nation" in 2004 and "Warriors For The Working Day" in 2006, both introducing works of art from the MOD Collection to the public for the first time. As Curator, in addition to managing the Collection to an extremely high standard, she concentrated on developing an awareness of the history and heritage of the Armed Forces, and presenting that through the resources of the Art Collection, both within MOD and to a wider public. Since leaving MOD in 2012 she has provided curatorial services on a consultancy basis to a range of private clients, and she also assists in the work of the Art Fund.
